The Server is to work under the Food & Beverage department and reporting to the Food and Beverage Operations Manager. A part-time team member must be able to work minimum 2 shifts a week. The working hours will vary from weekdays, weekends, and holidays (morning, mid, evenings shifts, and on-call basis). by providing at least 2-3 shifts per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be willing to be cross trained in the restaurant, banquets and in-room dining.



- Provide service to all dining room and banquets patrons ensuring that all Hilton Standards of Service are being met or exceeded

- Greeting & seating of guests in the dining room

- Coordinate delivery of food items with the kitchen

- Makes recommendations for guests regarding menu options and up-sells alcoholic beverages

- Ensures all orders are entered in Micros accurately, noting any substitutions, requests or allergies

- Ensures all cash-handling procedures are followed and ensures all transactions are accurate

- Takes ownership of guest complaints, finding creative ways to solve problems and follow-ups with the guest

- Assist in other Food and Beverage areas as required, including bartending and banquet service.

- Set up and tear down of buffets

- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:



- Minimum 1-2 years previous serving experience is required.

- Able to work effectively in a team environment

- Previous experience with Micros or a similar POS system.

- Serving It Right Certificate is required

- Food Safe Certificate is an asset

- Knowledge of wine, spirits and general bartending an asset

- Organized and able to take initiative

Must be able to stand for long periods.



- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds (~18 kg) on an intermittent basis.
