About the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club:

The Toronto Cricket Club is looking for a 12-month contract Server to join our Food & Beverage department. This role will be responsible for positive member interactions and ensuring exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Attend to members upon entrance, present menus and assist members in selecting food/beverage, suggest courses, explain the chef's specialties, identify appropriate wine, respond to food preparation and other questions
Transmit orders to the bar and kitchen by recording member's orders and identifying members special dietary needs, restrictions, and special requests
Serve and deliver orders, accompaniments, and condiments from bar and kitchen
Respond to additional member requirements by inquiring and observing dining process
Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to other special needs
Promptly address members service issues and refer members to management when necessary
Perform cleaning and preparation tasks, such as polishing and preparing cutlery, emptying garbage bins, sweeping and cleaning floors, cleaning freezers, fridges, and other equipment, etc.
Protect the club and members by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
Stay updated on current menu choices, specials, and menu changes
Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club
Conduct self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and respect in the workplace
Qualifications
Completion of high school or equivalent required
Food Handler's certification and Smart Serve certification required
At least one year of serving experience in hospitality-related industry required
Must have basic knowledge of Safety and Sanitation Regulations
Must have knowledge related to the food and beverage menus
Advanced knowledge of the POS Systems
Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to member complaints and collaborate with others
Must have flexible availability, including weeknights, weekends, and statutory holidays
