One of our major banking clients is looking for a Senior Web Developer - JavaScript/ Typescript (Bank - Capital Market)
Length: 6 Months contract with a possibility of extension
Location: Toronto, ON
Hours: Monday - Friday, Standard work week
LOB: Global Markets

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will be accountable to work in a team to develop and implement analytical tools for use by Capital Markets front-office to manage exposures and make trading decisions. Extensive software development and financial knowledge will be required for this challenge.

• Help support front office traders in their use of trading platforms.
• Maintenance and upgrading of existing software structure.
• Lead frontend programming. Ensure high standards are maintained through regular peer code review.
• Write well designed, testable, readable and scalable code.
• Provide training to team members on web technologies.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience building robust, complex and accessible user interfaces and applications.
• Strong experience using React function component and hooks.
• Strong experience using JavaScript / Typescript
• Good working knowledge on the development tools, such as VS code, npm workspaces, vite, eslint, prettier, vitest and react testing library.
• Working experience on third party packages, such as material ui, axios, react router, react query and react table.
• Strong understanding of web fundamentals.
• Strong working knowledge of REST API.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and debugging skills
• Bonus: knowledge of python and FastAPI
• Bonus: Experience with capital markets (trading/sales) environment

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Strong experience using React function component and hooks.
• Typescript- practical experience

EDUCATION :
- Computer science, Engineering , Practical experience in software development

NICE TO HAVE:

• knowledge of python and FastAPI (knowledge of back end experience)
• Creativity skills- assisting with overall physical appearanceof software
• Capital Markets related knowledge / experience at another FI
