We're looking for an experienced, solutions-focused Senior Tunnel Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of underground infrastructure projects across Canada, the US, and South America. Responsibilities Will Include:



Leading tunnel design and analysis for underground projects (concept through detailed design), including excavation methods, ground support, and lining systems. Preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables such as design reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction work packages. Providing technical input on constructability, sequencing, means and methods, and risk management for tunnelling and underground works. Conducting geotechnical/rock engineering assessments and applying appropriate ground support design methodologies (empirical and analytical) for varying ground conditions. Supporting procurement and tendering activities (scope definition, technical evaluations, contractor queries, bid reviews). Providing engineering support during construction, including RFIs, field changes, non-conformance reviews, and design updates as required. Coordinating with internal disciplines and external stakeholders (clients, contractors, regulators) to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and quality. Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to internal standards, tools, and best practices. Promoting a strong safety culture and integrating safety-in-design principles into all project work. Assisting with other general responsibilities to support project and business needs.

Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline. Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan (or another Canadian jurisdiction). 10+ years of progressive experience in tunnelling/underground engineering (design and/or construction). Strong understanding of tunnel excavation approaches (e.g., drill & blast, mechanical excavation/TBM as applicable), ground support, and lining systems. Working knowledge of industry methods and frameworks (e.g., observational method, risk registers, constructability reviews). Proficiency with common engineering software and tools used for underground design/analysis (as applicable to your specialty). Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly. Ability to work independently in a remote setting (if applicable) while collaborating effectively with multi-disciplinary teams. Travel to project sites as needed will be required.
