AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Track Engineer, to join our Rail & Transit team, located in Toronto, ON, Canada. Reporting to the Vice President, Transit and Rail, this position will be responsible for managing and leading track design expertise in relation to engineering work associated with the AECOM Transit & Rail projects. Initially, this will be a multi-year opportunity working full-time from a Metrolinx Office in Downtown Toronto, as part of a larger team delivering the On Corridor Works project. As a senior member of the Transit & Rail team, you will be given opportunities to use your transferable skills to define processes, create execution plans, mentor the junior team members, and be the technical lead for multiple projects.
Job Summary/Responsibilities

• Reviewing, performing and/or coordinating the planning, monitoring, analysis and evaluation of the track designs to effectively address track design, construction, interface and maintenance issues;
• Provide strategic input into complex design options and solutions that fit the Client\xe2\x80\x99s requirements
• Leading technical relationships with clients, consultants and contractors
• Coordinating and providing technical expertise to track engineering staff and consultants engaged to provide track design for commuter, light rail and class 1 railroads;
• Performing design reviews pertaining to the design of the track alignment and trackwork through all project phases;
• Reviewing design standard variances, participating in and reviewing \xe2\x80\x9cvalue engineering\xe2\x80\x9d initiatives, and obtaining stakeholders buy-in;
• Supporting quality control/quality assurance processes, incl. technical approach, lead verifier;
• Preparing and reviewing technical documents for tender; working cooperatively with other disciplines in other departments in order to meet client requirements;
• Preparing and reviewing proposals, and providing written comments for design and technical proposal submissions and/or design-build;
• Preparing and reviewing engineering and construction cost estimates and schedules for medium and large Projects
• Representing AECOM on all assigned technical matters relating to your expertise in track and track integration design;
• Regular contacts are with all levels of employees and management staff in the Transit & Rail department.;
• Regular contact with contractors, consultants and other technical personnel;
• Other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering + 10 years of relevant experience in Transit and Freight Rail track design and engineering experience is required
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is required or eligible within 6 months
• In depth knowledge of AREMA, Transit and Freight (Metrolinx, CN, CP) design and engineering standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience related to design and construction for large transportation site development projects and transit infrastructure, including but not limited to transit stations, platforms, tracks, grading and drainage, signals, bridges and grade separations.
• Skilled in technical writing, communicating and presenting to clients and the public
• Experience with integrating track designs with rail systems including communications, signaling and traction power
• LRT Systems (incl. embedded and direct fixation track slab) track design experience is an asset
• Track and Grading Design experience (Autodesk and/or Bentley products) is an asset
• Familiarity with TCRP, APTA, EN Standards is an asset
