Process design and equipment sizing for wastewater treatment systems
Process engineering design to size/select individual components that support overall system design, such as piping systems, chemical feed systems, and process-specific treatment systems
Collect background data on water/wastewater infrastructure and community requirements
Collect and analyze data specific to project scope
Analyze data on water/wastewater infrastructure A
Assess existing water/wastewater infrastructure
Coordinate with the drafting team to develop detailed design drawings
Develop front-end contract specifications for procurement
Assist with construction management activities, such as reviewing budgets, schedules, shop drawings, requests for information enquiries, contractor progress claims, material performance test reports, etc.
Oversee the work of technical staff
Assist in mentoring junior staff with day-to-day activities, answering questions, and providing best practice guidance
Assist junior engineers with workflow and prioritization of tasks so that timelines and deliverables are met, and projects are completed within the budget
Establish report/study outlines that meet the project deliverable requirements
Create training materials and train customers and operators on the technology
Installation and commissioning of new equipment at customer sites
Actively communicate and engage stakeholders
Assist with the commissioning of water/wastewater infrastructure
Qualifications
B.Sc. in Engineering. Degrees in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, are preferred
Must be in good standing as a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a technical role in the wastewater treatment industry
Minimum 5 years directly involved in the design/fabrication/installation/operation of water and/or wastewater treatment systems
Substantial experience in the following key technology areas: ultrafiltration, DAF, Settling clarifiers, biological treatment, wastewater nutrient removal (ammonia, nitrates, phosphorus), metals removal
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on relationship building
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment with engineers, trades, programmers, and technical professionals;
