ABOUT THE ROLE:
In the Molding Technician role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of injection molding systems. The molding technician is responsible and accountable for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of tooling and equipment. In addition, the Technician will work with support groups to ensure product quality is maintained to available standards, and to record process changes per our Management System.
Key Responsibilities:Responsible to set up and to prioritize the safe operations of equipment and tooling above all Set up, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, lubricate, and clean injection molding tooling and auxiliary equipment Communicates regularly with production staff and site managers on the status of mold repairs, process changes, and production trials Performs safety inspection of equipment such as crane, power industrial vehicles, etc. Ensures minimal production downtime during mold change overs and preventative maintenance activities Perform cycle time reporting and identifying opportunities for cycle time reduction Conduct molding trials, including completion of all pertaining documentation per Management System Start up and shut down procedures of molding equipment, material feed systems, and auxiliary equipment such as water treatment systems, air compressors, etc. Set up assembly work cells to standards to perform safe work Trouble shoot problems relating to molding equipment, tooling, or assembly equipment Follow Company policies and procedures and instructions to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management system. Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Provide a supportive role for assembly operations, material handling and automation equipment Responsible to perform daily Preventative Maintenance, Safety Inspections and to report out findings to management and support groups Responsible for snow removal and de-icing duties as required Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) and email First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets

Required Experience You'll Bring:High school diploma or equivalent 3 years + experience in the operations of molding tooling, such as moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, maintaining, inspecting, lubricating, and cleaning molding tools Valid Reach Truck and/or Forklift License

Preferred Skills and ExperienceExhibit interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse team environment Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professional at all times Able to work well under pressure Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership Ability to prioritize, and complete prioritized tasks safely Familiar with ISO 9001 quality standards and ability to document changes per standard requirements Experience in Lock/Out Tag-Out procedures Highly motivated and able to work independently Strong analytical skills and able to pay attention to detail Ability to work safely detecting, isolating and identifying of irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment Able to replace defective parts and fully re-assemble equipment and machinery safely

Job Requirements:Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day Entitled to 2 - 10 minute breaks and 1- 20 minute lunch May be required to work overtime with paid compensation to meet business demands Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs may be required Able to work both indoors and outdoors Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses, Gloves, bump cap, safety shoes, hearing protection) and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures This position is not eligible for remote work This position is not eligible for relocation
