You will be part of the BUSA Aerostructures Design and Operations Support Engineering team for the Global 7500/8000 Aircraft, providing technical expertise of to all product development initiatives.

In your role, you will:

Technical Leadership

  • Influence KD mid and long-term vision
  • Influence KD strategy, objectives, key SME participant for review with Fellows
  • Identify skills gaps in KD
  • Participate as a Key SME participant in KD activities
  • Influence industry design standards - Active panel member/chair at SAE*
  • Educate other specialists within the group and wider on technical decision making and influence
  • Provide recommendations for promotions from Technical Expert to Senior Technical Expert
  • Propose the implementation of technical innovations based on knowledge of industry trends through Advanced Design and Strategic Technology
  • Recommend new cost-effective engineering solutions through Knowledge Domains and Programs
  • Influence industry standards in area of specialization - Attend and lead/influence conference \xe2\x80\x93 Paper
  • Develop network of contact throughout Industry
  • Support MR&O development (review and acceptance)
  • Lead and coordinate the A/C level requirement and design solution development through the DR&O, ARD, IDD, RMAS etc development and production -Includes coordinating with other functions to ensure completeness and cohesiveness -Lead and Coordinate technically the V&V efforts at A/C level
  • Be responsible for A/C level architecture and functional modeling
  • Participate in Applicant internal audits and provide technical approval of design
  • Witness selected testing, inspections, and/or audit as part of oversight on behalf of the Applicant
  • Participate in rulemaking in area(s) of specialization
  • Support derivative MR&O development (review and acceptance) -Derivative DR&O/ARD preparation and Peer work
  • Collect and disposition Lessons Learned with KD for community cross programs
  • Lead and coordinate the A/C level requirement and design solution development for complex problems leveraging transformation and BES
  • Work to resolve systemic in-service manufacturing issues affecting continued airworthiness and customer acceptance
  • Lead and coordinate the PR investigation and resolution process for A/C level issues, Customer Facing \xe2\x80\x93 problem resolution in support of Delivery and STC\xe2\x80\x99s & support to customer advisory councils
  • Participate in Commodity Strategy reviews with Sourcing
  • Identify opportunities with Sourcing for program cost savings
Technical Competency
  • Oversight Technical process and adherence to TRL, Maturity & Exit Gate Criteria
  • Validate technical processes & Knowledge Standards meet Best Practice
  • Enforce adherence to BES practices and Knowledge Standards to promote product line integrity and consistency - May perform BES Champion role
  • Support problem solving in the Knowledge Domain across product lines
  • Collect/Validate Lessons Learned in own Domain in support of Knowledge Owner
  • Mentor Engineers from your technical discipline
  • Recommend development action of Technical Experts as part of PDP
  • Mentor successors
  • Research technical developments in the industry to remain aware of innovations that may affect and improve current system performance
  • Maintain competitive landscape of technologies and performance of non-Bombardier models
  • Perform RoM business cases and statements of work for technical studies Lead aircraft studies having multi-disciplinary inputs
  • Lead Strat Tech team thinking regarding certification, safety and producibility of projects
  • Share Industry and Regulatory Development with KD`s
  • Develop the concept of operation, operational and functional analysis and allocation.
  • Perform A/C level trade studies and functional modeling
  • Prepare program specific IP, CM, CRI, CAI as Applicant
  • Prepare Cert Plan as Applicant in support to the DADs
  • Participate in LOI peer review activities
  • Prepare company inputs to NPA\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Support programs in Major Manufacturing issues \xe2\x80\x93 Major RNC\xe2\x80\x99s, Major Non-Disclosure
  • Provide technical guidance to Programs and CARB
  • Work with the Safety team to execute A/C Level Safety, Reliability and Security processes
  • Support Multi-disciplinary alignment for Triage, CARB and AOG issues when necessary
  • Work with Management on PCR process, cycle times, optimized solutions
  • Ensure MRB /Liaison lessons learned are fed back into BES best practices through Knowledge Domains
Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,
  • You hold a Bachelor or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Engineering. May have a PHD related directly to a field of expertise
  • You have 15 years or more of relevant experience in a specific aerospace engineering field (preferably ASIL).
  • You have experience on at least 2 or more development programs, expert in one or more areas
  • You have international reputation, Highly recommended, has an international reputation, and May perform as a regulatory authority delegate in the field of expertise
  • You have advanced knowledge in a specific field and a breadth of knowledge of many aircraft systems
