JOB DESCRIPTION

The Childrens Hospital of Eastern Ontario is seeking a senior technical analyst that will build, configure, and integrate infrastructure, services, and applications to support a new platform that will foster ground-breaking AI research. In this role, you will help solve unique computational and operational challenges, lead the management of new software and help data scientists and statisticians get the most out of the infrastructure. The successful candidate must have experience with linux platforms with a focus on performance, uptime, and security.

Key areas or responsibility include:

• Work closely with the CHEO Research Institutes Technical Director to administer the AI environment
• Perform a variety of system administration functions that would include the installation of operating systems, databases, applications and software patches, establishing and monitoring backup and recovery procedures, and perform any system reconfigurations resulting from various server assessments.
• Monitor the enterprise database systems to ensure that adequate resources and optimized performance and uptime.
• Contribute to the conceptual, logical, and physical architecture and governance along with corresponding solution designs
• Support the high visibility AI Sandbox in an operations capacity
• Ensure hardening of systems based on standards set out by CHEO IT Services and Security and Infrastructure Team.
• Plan, implement, and maintain the overall security posture of the platform, including intrusion detection/prevention, malware management, vulnerability/penetration testing, risk/vulnerability identification, and opportunities to improve platform security
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of this technology to determine its suitability within our environment.
• Develop detailed standard operating procedures and supporting documentation to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between various staff members.
• Provide cross-functional technical leadership on project teams
• Provide training to a variety of individuals having diverse technical or educational backgrounds
• Proactively identify, communicate, mitigate, and resolve issues
• Assume project coordination responsibilities for projects related to the systems and networking support function
• Assume other related responsibilities that may be assigned by department management

QUALIFICATIONS

• Criminal Record Check (Essential)
• University Degree or College Diploma in a discipline related to computer technology, or equivalent applied experience combined with formal courses of instruction (Essential)
• 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a technical support supplemented by various courses and certifications from recognized training organization (Essential)
• Experience administering and scaling linux-based infrastructure based on Ubuntu, Redhat, etc. (Essential)
• Experience deploying and administering Kubernetes infrastructure built on Rancher, Openshift (Essential)
• Experience with monitoring infrastructure with tools like Datadog, Logstash, Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk (Essential)
• Strong automation experience with focus on configuration as code and infrastructure as code (such as Ansible) (Essential)
• Expertise with API management, container orchestration, containers, and microservices (Essential)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including report writing and presentations (Essential)
• Strong analytical and project coordination skills (Essential)
• Strong facilitation and team leadership skills (Essential)
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills (Essential)
• Extraordinary attention to detail (Essential)
• Current knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP (Preferred)
• Experience administering a Windows-based environment (Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365) (Preferred)
• Experience configuring networks running on MLNX-OS, Cisco, etc. (Preferred)
• Experience managing enterprise file storage systems based on NFS (Preferred)
• Background in machine learning, predictive modeling, and data analysis (Preferred)
• Programming with: Java, Python, Scala, R, C++ in Linux/Unix environment (Preferred)
• Experience with Medical Data / Medical field (Preferred)

Les responsabilit\xc3\xa9s principales sont les suivantes :

• Assurer diverses fonctions dadministration du syst\xc3\xa8me, notamment linstallation de syst\xc3\xa8mes dexploitation, de bases de donn\xc3\xa9es, dapplications et de correctifs logiciels, la mise en place et le suivi de proc\xc3\xa9dures de sauvegarde et de r\xc3\xa9cup\xc3\xa9ration, ainsi que toute reconfiguration du syst\xc3\xa8me r\xc3\xa9sultant de diverses \xc3\xa9valuations de serveurs.
• Surveiller les syst\xc3\xa8mes de base de donn\xc3\xa9es de lorganisation pour sassurer que les ressources sont ad\xc3\xa9quates et que les rendements sont optimis\xc3\xa9s ainsi que la disponibilit\xc3\xa9.
• Travailler en \xc3\xa9troite collaboration avec lanalyste en syst\xc3\xa8mes de gestion et l\xc3\xa9quipe du g\xc3\xa9nie clinique pour sassurer que la solution TI satisfait aux exigences en mati\xc3\xa8re de disponibilit\xc3\xa9 et de capacit\xc3\xa9.
• Assurer le renforcement des syst\xc3\xa8mes sur la base des normes \xc3\xa9tablies par l\xc3\xa9quipe de cybers\xc3\xa9curit\xc3\xa9.
