Opportunity Overview

In the Operations division at Edward Jones, you\'ll focus on creating the ideal client and branch experience. From account opening, to trade settlement and movement of client cash and securities, to statement production and tax reporting, Operations is involved every step of the way. As the backbone of the branch, your work will support all client transactions and processing through the life cycle of the client relationship. Through strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration, you\'ll continuously identify opportunities for operational efficiency and risk mitigation, supporting the firm in its key priorities.

The Canadian Insurance and Securities Processing team is responsible for linking new and in-force Insurance policies to accounts, GIC purchases and re-registrations and physical certificates. As the head of this team, you will be responsible for overall performance of the team including establishing and achieving key performance indicators, key goals and objectives, risk mitigation, and compliance with supervisory procedures and regulations. Additional responsibilities include identification and implementation of process improvement solutions and partnering with other divisions to improve the branch and client experience.

  • Full management responsibility for a diverse team of as many as 15 associates. Manages non-exempt and exempt associates and may involve distance leadership.
  • Must know the team and department functions, processes, and/or systems supported by the team and department within 6 months of hire, and be skilled on the team\'s systems, processes, and/or functions within 12 months of hire.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and responsible for the development and performance of key systems in Canada.
  • Must utilize technology and tools available to identify and implement solutions and create process efficiencies for the team and/or department in a high-volume, deadline oriented environment.
  • Must anticipate, examine, recommend and implement solutions regarding team processes, systems, regulations, resource allocation, and controls not guided by policies or procedures.
  • Must have the ability to identify risks and design and implement effective controls to mitigate risks.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience required. Concentrations in business, accounting, finance or management are preferred, but other concentrations will be considered.
  • CPH and CSC licenses required.
  • Two or more years financial services industry or accounting experience, with operations experience strongly preferred. Leadership and/or audit experience is a plus.
  • Must have a basic understanding of major functions in US and/or CAN brokerage Operations, including books and records, trades, packaged products, and processing of cash, securities and accounts.
  • Must have excellent partnership skills and effective problem solving, judgement and critical thinking skills.
