About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our finance team. This is a key role supporting our corporate group, funds, and partnerships on a wide range of tax matters. You'll play an integral part in ensuring compliance with Canadian tax requirements, managing filings across numerous entities, and supporting CRA inquiries, while also contributing to internal process improvements and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2s), partnership returns (T5013s), GST/HST returns, and other tax filings.
Support tax planning, structuring, and compliance for multiple limited partnerships, corporations, and funds.
Manage and respond to CRA audits and inquiries
Maintain tax records, schedules, and reconciliations to support filings and audits.
Research and interpret tax legislation, providing guidance to management on tax implications for business decisions.
Work closely with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax reporting, filings, and internal controls.
Timely filing of all corporate and partnership tax returns across multiple entities.
Development of a tax compliance calendar and proactive risk monitoring.
Preparation of tax provisions for financial reporting purposes.
Partner with Finance team on quarterly/annual financial statement tax provision.
Provide tax insights for M&A, restructuring, and capital projects.
Act as the go-to advisor for internal stakeholders regarding tax implications of contracts and new business initiatives.
Qualifications
CPA designation (or working towards it) with a focus in tax, or completion of CPA In-Depth Tax program (enrolled or completed strongly preferred).
3-5+ years of relevant tax experience (public practice or industry).
Strong knowledge of corporate tax, partnership tax, and indirect taxes.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Ability to influence and communicate tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with CRA and external advisors.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
