About Our Opportunity

As a member of the Service Design and Delivery (SDD) Education and Social Services team, and reporting to the Manager Education Solutions, the Senior Systems Analyst (CSO3) delivers service excellence through their programming skills and strong business analysis. As part of the team supporting the Departments of Education and Early Childhood Education you will work on custom developed applications, COTS, SaaS and vendor supported systems used by government and within the public school system.

Primary Accountabilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing code, maintaining software and providing guidance and direction to junior resources.
  • Providing technical support to business users through consulting, troubleshooting, problem identification, options analysis, data requests, database design, and training.
  • The preparation of requirements, business process definitions, workflow process, and change requests.
  • Proactively managing relationships with partners at all levels of the organization and with external groups such as the Regional Centres for Education and CSAP.
  • Working in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Participating in workshops with internal and external participants and partners.
  • Ensuring effective communication where agreement or cooperation is required or where there are barriers to understanding.
  • Managing competing priorities.
Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business, Information Technology, or Computer Science and 3 years related experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology Program and 3.5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable. Related experience must include recent programming (within the last 3 years), business analysis and production development and support experience.

In addition, as the successful candidate, you have the following skills, training, and work experience:
  • A high degree of analytical and logical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working as part of a team in an application support organization.
  • Strong organizational skills that facilitate managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Experience producing business requirements, functional specification documents, and options analysis materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and take pride in your work.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies.
  • Able to work remotely using tools like Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, etc.
Qualifications and Experience Cont\'d

As well as:
  • Experience in .NET, Json/Javascript, Drupal, and HTML5.
  • Proficiency in SQL (Microsoft/Oracle etc.) and its extensions (TSQL/PL/SQL etc.) script writing.
  • Knowledgeable with database design (SQL and/or ORACLE) and information/data security.
  • Experience with PowerSchool and knowledge of Departmental and Provincial Education initiatives would also be an asset.

Pay Grade: PR 14

Salary Range: $2,563.74 - $3,121.84 Bi-Weekly
