Position Summary:

CareRx is in an exciting growth phase and looking to add a Senior Systems Administrator to our IT Infrastructure team. The Senior Systems Administrator provides support for all aspects of installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will take part in IT infrastructure design, solution implementation and administration to ensure operational continuity, security, and stability.



The successful candidate will be energetic, hands-on and highly motivated while being accountable for Windows, Hyper-V, VMware, and Linux systems, networking, data storage and internal applications that support business operations.

This position is based out of our Edmonton, AB location and will provide remote, Canada-wide support. Some travel will be required.

Your Day to Day:

Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot network and server infrastructure Ensure relevant systems are fully patched and up to date Analyze and resolve highly complex technical issues Provide tier 2 technical support Deploy and configure physical and virtual server builds with associated hardware and peripherals Ensure documentation is up to date and maintained Proactively monitor systems for uptime, security, and availability Manage and maintain data networks (LAN/WAN) spanning multiple locations Implementation of policy and procedures at the technical level Manage and maintain O365 and Azure Infrastructure Monitor and ensure backups are complete and accurate (Veeam) Optimize network configurations for speed, stability, and redundancy Participate in team meetings to continually improve CareRx systems and infrastructure

What You Bring To The Team:

Required skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or College diploma in a related stream 5+ years of experience in advanced Windows Server administration Advanced knowledge and experience with IP network OSI layers, WAN topologies, firewall implementation and best practice 5+ years of experience with SAN concepts/configuration and SAN connectivity Active Directory/Group Policy, Microsoft Entra ID Experience building and administering enterprise virtualized environments in Microsoft Hyper-V/Hyper-V Failover Cluster, and/or VMWare ESXi Knowledge of structured network cabling, copper and fiber connectivity, electrical component power allocation, server cabinet/rack component installation and design concepts

Nice to Have skills

3+ years of experience in Linux administration - server build, scripting 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Azure environment 3+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 3+ years of experience with Veeam Backup and Replication administration, implementation and DR concepts Experience with VOIP/SIP trunks, and on-prem telephone platforms Experience with various network/system monitoring tools Experience managing enterprise scale email deployments Strong focus on all aspects of network security and regulatory compliance Ability to solve complex issues and stay calm under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
