We are hiring Senior Summer Associates for the Direct Private Equity group within our Private Equity department for summer 2023. The Direct Private Equity group focuses on direct investments in private companies in North America and Europe. The group considers a full range of ownership structures, from minority stakes to 100% control, with a focus on sizeable investments alongside aligned partners, including private equity funds, families, like-minded investors, corporations, entrepreneurs and management teams. The Summer Senior Associate works with colleagues in small deal teams to evaluate potential private equity opportunities, conduct research, develop recommendations, participate in the negotiation and execution of investments and monitor and manage investments.

What you'll do:
  • Analyze investment opportunities for a variety of industries, companies and securities
  • Build complex financial models to assist in investment evaluation, structuring and financing
  • Manage due diligence processes (including the scoping and hiring of third-party advisors)
  • Make recommendations outlining potential investment opportunities and highlighting key diligence findings
  • Actively participate in all stages of the investment process
  • Participate in asset management and monitoring
  • Engage in the negotiation of legal documentation
Qualifications

Who We're Looking For

Candidates in a full-time MBA program with an expected graduation date in 2024 are eligible to apply. We look for candidates focused on a long-term career in the Direct Private Equity group. You have a strong track record of at least 3 years of relevant work experience, a strong skill-set in financial modeling, valuation and analytics, as well as good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills. In addition, the most successful candidates often combine energy, enthusiasm, and intellectual curiosity, with demonstrated interest in investing.
