We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Kitchener or Ottawa team. In this role you will be responsible for the design of structural systems and components for a variety of commercial, and industrial facility types with focus on complex steel and concrete structures; ensuring the designs conform to recognized codes and standards, as well as client requirements.

Youll design unique and challenging projects and perform analyses and investigations to make expert recommendations to clients for various purposes. Youll develop advanced engineering concepts, techniques, and will maintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer. Youll lead meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them; as well as manage the quality of work and interface with clients.

Youll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise to mentor other professionals, helping your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward as well as interfacing with clients in managing the quality of work.

Heres What Youll Need:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Masters degree preferred
  • 12-15 years related experience specializing in the design of industrial structures for complex facilities, with emphasis on steel and concrete systems.
  • P.Eng. licensed in Ontario.
  • Experienced in coordinating with and understanding of MEP and Architectural designs to collectively problem solve design issues.
  • Experienced in Contract Administration and support of construction phases, including performing site visits
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication (both verbal and written), and organization skills required
  • Software knowledge and requirements include: Revit, AutoCAD, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, STAAD Pro, Enercalc, Word and Excel
