Our client is seeking a Senior Specialized IT Consultant
Key Deliverables for Senior Specialized IT Consultant
Product Requirements & Delivery: Lead the end-to-end process of gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements for HL7 FHIR-based digital health solutions. Develop HL7 FHIR artifacts and ensure their accuracy through validation and troubleshooting.
Prioritization: Assess stakeholder needs and implementation readiness to prioritize features and standards that enhance interoperability and reduce reliance on paper-based workflows. Conduct gap analyses and recommend standards-based solutions aligned with provincial healthcare initiatives.
Collaboration: Engage with diverse stakeholders including clinical, business, and technical experts to ensure alignment across teams. Facilitate partner engagement through presentations, briefing notes, and collaborative workshops. Maintain strong communication and negotiation skills to support consensus-building and timely delivery.
Technical Expertise: Apply hands-on experience with HL7 FHIR Structured Data Capture (SDC) and tools such as Simplifier, HL7 Validator, Forge, and FHIR Shorthand. Demonstrate understanding of healthcare information systems across Ontario and contribute to the development of interoperable EHR solutions.
Standards Leadership: Contribute to the lifecycle of digital health standards by researching Canadian and international frameworks. Support integration efforts with jurisdictional EHR projects and regional healthcare systems.
Must Haves:
Extensive knowledge and understanding of digital health standards including but not limited to HL7 FHIR, clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED-CT, LOINC) and their application.
Healthcare experience within Canada in acute care, primary care and/or community care settings.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of pan-Canadian digital health standards and tooling.
Hands-on experience with HL7 FHIR tooling including but not limited to Simplifier, HL7 Validator, Forge or FHIR Shorthand.
Hands-on experience implementing HL7 FHIR standards and solutions
