Aviya Aerospace Systems is a leader in engineering services and solutions for mission critical Aerospace and Defense applications. Aviya provides expertise in program management, systems, software, mechanical, and hardware engineering to many of the top-tier Aerospace and Defense Contractors. Aviya has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer to join our test solutions engineering group in Mississauga, ON.

Specific Position Duties

• To specify, design and integrate software applications for test systems as per the client requirements and business needs.
• Contribute as required to the coding and troubleshooting of the test systems software.
• Participate in the definition and review of the software architecture of the solution and formal structured design against product and software requirements.
• Assist as required in the development and documentation of formal software and hardware/software integration test plans, test cases, test procedures and execution and review of test results.
• Perform software traceability analysis from product/system requirements to software requirements and software design, implementation and verification in coordination with other team members from design and V&V.

Qualifications for Position

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechatronics or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in software engineering or similar role.
• Significant experience with design, development and troubleshooting of safety critical software used in real-time control systems.
• Strong knowledge of sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (Serial, CAN, ARINC 429, Ethernet).
• Programming experience in C, C++, Assembly and Python.
• Knowledge of model-based software development is a plus.
• Experience in reviewing or debugging source code.
• Experience with integrated software design and development environment (SDE) and tools, configuration management systems (CM) and problem reporting system (PR).
• Familiarity with Rational DOORS software and Problem Reporting Tools an asset.
• Good working knowledge of software and hardware/software testing, verification methodologies and profiling tools.
• Experience with software product development and validation processes as per DO-178 is a strong asset.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communicational skills.
• Ability to work and deliver under tight deadlines.
