Huawei Canada is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its EDA tool research team. This team is well supported by Huawei Canada and is expected to make an impact for Huawei's technology ecosystem. Our group is creating a best-in-class compiler for reconfigurable hardware solutions. The compiler will be used by other teams to enhance efficiency for products in communication networks and data centers. You can expect your work to have a direct effect on millions of products worldwide. You will be well supported by your team in a collaborative, low friction, and research-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have professional software development experience with advanced C++ knowledge. A background in CAD tool development will set you apart.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement software features that enhance toolchain performance and create high value for our customers
• Research new CAD techniques to effectively solve NP-hard problems
• Resolve complex functional and non-functional defects
• Mentor junior software engineers through coaching, code reviews, design reviews, etc

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong C++ programming abilities and large-scale software design skills
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Solid communication and presentation skills

• Open-source numerical optimization libraries
• Machine learning
• Graph theory
