Senior Server Administrator

Job Description

Our Saskatchewan customer is currently looking for a Senior Server Administrator on a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. The role will be based onsite or remotely in Regina.

If you have strong server infrastructure experience working with various components of the VMWare vShpere, Hyper-V, and Azure cloud infrastructure and feel that the responsibilities shown below describe you to a tee, we'd like to hear from you!

The candidate's skillset will include:

  • 5+ years of recent and practical server administration experience with a minimum of 3 years of recent and practical senior server administration experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft on premise server design, implementation, and administration
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Cloud (O365, Azure) design, implementation, and administration
  • Proven proficiency in VMware vSphere design, implementation, and administration
  • Proven proficiency with server, storage and cloud storage security best practices
  • Understanding of enterprise level on premise and cloud infrastructure
  • Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related equivalent

The candidate's deliverables will include:
  • Specific deliverables will be determined according to assigned projects and work plan. High level deliverables include:
  • Designing, implementing, documenting and supporting the enterprise server environment.
  • Preparing plans for development and installation of sever and storage according to present and future requirements.
  • Providing expert level technical design, implementation, and administration of the Microsoft on premise and Azure environments.
  • Providing expert level technical design, implementation, and administration of the VMware vSphere environment.
  • Managing and maintaining server disaster recovery including planning, implementing, maintenance and testing.
  • Providing infrastructure architecture lifecycle recommendations.
