Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Advisor plays a key role in helping the organization achieve its objectives. The ideal candidate will have a background in sales, power tools, and the tooling industry. They are ambitious, results-driven, and passionate about the tool industry, with proven sales experience and a strong ability to build lasting customer relationships. Leveraging solid product knowledge, the Sales Advisor will provide expert guidance to customers to drive sales and act like a mentor for the sales team. A strong interest in learning and growing within both sales and the tooling industry is essential.
The candidate is responsible for the sales financial results of their area as well as the continued net growth. The quality of customer service and the customer experience is their priority. This role also involves continuous training in terms of product knowledge and marketing strategies, and also special attention to the immediate market in order to maintain our position in the market. The senior sales must excel at mentoring sales team. They must be also comfortable comanaging a high-traffic retail store of approximately 15,000 sq.ft. and containing nearly 10,000 products.
Main responsibilities:
Sales-oriented with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and supplier representatives.
Continually strive to gain applicable tool knowledge.
Identifies and proposes sales opportunities to the manager based on customer needs and inquiries.
Participates in daily floor walks with the manager to ensure all standards are met, including stock levels, accurate pricing, proper promotional tagging, and overall cleanliness.
Act like a coach to train and coach sales partners to improve team knowledge
Reviews tool-type reports for their area to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Easy to work with and collaborative with head office and other stores to facilitate efficient communication.
Staying aware of new products on the market to stay ahead of competition.
Experience
Minimum 3 to 5 years of sales experience.
Minimum 3 years in retail/industrial sales environment.
Minimum 3 years in the tool industry or other industry related to tooling.
Must have delivered concrete results in sales
Must have delivered concrete results in terms of sales growth and profitability.
Must have the ability to work in an organized manner, have a work ethic where judgment, logical reasoning and initiative are advocated and used daily.
Must have a vast product knowledge and share it with the team.
Must have past experience training, coaching, and mentoring junior staff.
Must know how to counter theft and prevent it.
Must be able to adapt to changes, delays and unforeseen events in a positive and professional manner.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

The ideal candidate has the ability to travel to Canada and the United States for tool industry conventions, for meetings (British Columbia) or otherwise as the role requires.
This is a full-time, permanent position, 40 hours/week, the 5-day work week includes 2 days off per week, Sunday (closed) and one day during the week. One full weekend off each 6 weeks.
