The Role:

Neo is looking for a full-time in-person Legal Counsel to join our team in Calgary, AB. This is a unique opportunity to support a broad range of practice areas including Neo\xe2\x80\x99s commercial, regulatory, privacy, employment and IP matters. What you\'ll be doing:

• Provide strategic and legal advice on a broad range of practice areas including corporate/commercial, regulatory, privacy, employment and IP matters
• Anticipate and address legal issues to protect the interests of Neo and reduce exposure to legal risks
• Draft internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with legal requirements
• Support legal updates to all customer facing disclosures and agreements
• Develop and maintain form agreements, contract management systems, and other databases
• Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to Neo and implement best practices for compliance throughout the organization, including tracking and supporting the implementation of legislative changes
• Conduct legal research and provide concise and fit for purpose legal advice to senior members of the legal team and internal stakeholders, in a timely manner
• Support the Neo legal team, as required
• Manage external legal counsel, as required

Who we\'re looking for:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Law (L.LB) or Jurist Doctor (J.D.)
• A member of, or eligible for membership in, the Law Society of Alberta
• 2-7 years of legal practice in either private practice or in-house
• Preference for candidates with experience in one or more of following practice areas: corporate/commercial, consumer disclosure, regulatory, privacy and employment
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
• Strong organization and time management skills and the ability to meet short deadlines and prioritize work
