Position Summary:
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue by proactively soliciting, managing, and closing group and corporate business opportunities. The role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can foster strong client relationships, develop new business opportunities, and contribute to achieving the hotel's overall financial objectives. This position plays a pivotal role in positioning the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport as the preferred destination for meetings, events, corporate travel, and group bookings.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
Identify, solicit, and secure new business from key markets including association, government, and international inbound.
Develop and execute comprehensive sales action plans focused on driving business in need periods and achieving assigned revenue targets.
Conduct outside sales calls, site inspections, sales blitzes, and client entertainment as needed.
Maintain an active pipeline of prospective accounts through strategic prospecting and lead generation.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain long-term client relationships with key accounts to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
Respond promptly to inquiries, prepare customized proposals, negotiate rates, and secure contracts.
Work collaboratively with clients and internal departments to ensure seamless planning and execution of group stays and meetings.
Revenue & Strategic Contribution
Assist in the preparation of the annual sales & marketing plan, budgets, and forecasts.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in analyzing sales data and KPIs to guide strategy and decision-making.
Contribute to pricing and yield strategies by working closely with Revenue Management.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
Serve as a mentor and coach to junior sales team members, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.
Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote brand awareness and drive new business.
Collaborate with other departments such as Catering, Revenue, and Front Office to ensure the successful execution of group programs and maximize guest satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service or airport hotel setting.
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong knowledge of the Toronto airport market and feeder cities is an asset.
Experience with CRM systems (Delphi, Opera Sales & Catering, or similar).
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel PMS/CMS platforms.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
