Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for Liability.

What you bring to the table:

Job Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor\'s Degree and six or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to

Liability.

OR

High School Diploma or Equivalent and eight or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering

area related to liability.

OR

Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associate\'s degree and six or more years of experience in

the Risk Engineering area.

AND

Experience working in a team environment.

Preferred:

Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Advanced knowledge of exposure controls.

Advanced knowledge within the industry segment.

Certification in area of specialty: Risk Engineering.

Ability to analyze statistical data related to the four lines of coverage in Middle Market

Strong research, writing, communication and presentation ability

Ability to balance multiple initiatives at one time and adjust priorities as required.

Ability to partner with persons throughout Risk Engineering and the organization to achieve goals.

Ability to coach others

Attention to details.

What you will do:

Receive and review survey requests for collaboration with Underwriting before assignment to the field

Serve as the subject matter resource for Middle Markets in Risk Engineering

Support / initiate development of RE staff as \xe2\x80\x9call lines\xe2\x80\x9d REs

Provide technical guidance and recommendations as a subject matter expert to customers and business partners in order to support the resolution of the most complex customer cases and develop precedents to improve customer service

Support development of Middle Market focused tools / services that enhance or expand our value proposition to customers and Zurich

Engage with the senior team of Risk Engineering regarding items of interest for Middle Market

Participate on huddles of the Construction, Middle Markets and Large Casualty team

Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships across the organization in order to ensure effective relationships and achieve engagement to change

Contribute to the development of processes and policies aligned to global standards that support local needs

Drives the deployment of technical training initiatives to increase cross competences within MM RE

Provides technical support to less experienced/qualified risk engineers, involved in the delivery of risk assessment and risk improvement services to customers and business partners

Responsible for Line of Business specific technical updates and maintenance of organizational knowledge

Provide effective advice on risk management issues to external customers and internal business partners

Participate in loss investigations

Support the Liability, Property, and Fleet SME\'s

Assess the quality of complex risks as described in the appropriate standard(s) and related competency level , and assess loss potentials in accordance with agreed definitions.

Support external customers by identifying, and reducing the risks that they face individually, and on an overall account basis.

Provide appropriate risk improvement advice, conduct loss investigations (including both trend and root cause analysis).

Anticipate, recognize and respond to the needs of customers by providing expert solutions and training to key customer(s),and contribute to Business Operation Profit through opportunity spotting and cross selling.

Develop and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships, and collaborate with both customers and Business partners to develop appropriate service plans.

Resolve technical issues, problems and projects in reference to policies and procedures within a specific function or unit.
