AHS along with the Institute for Healthcare Optimization (IHO) are collaborating to improve surgical flow at major operative services sites. The IHO initiative is being undertaken at the UAH Level 3 OR and MAZ OR. The overarching role of the senior project manager will be two-fold. Firstly, to support the UAH and MAZ through the IHO processes and recommendations. Secondly, to support coordination between the UAH and MAZ Operative Service Leads, the Provincial Operating Implementation Program Office and the IHO.

Required Qualifications:

A Master\'s or research-based degree in a health-related field. Relevant project management specific education, training, or certification in project management from an accredited institution. Professional designation in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional designation). 5 years of progressive experience in project management, including knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies. Considerable experience with coordinating/leading teams through project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a unique project environment where project resources and subject matter experts have limited availability to contribute; demonstrated ability to move projects forward within these constraints. Experience working directly with clinicians; comfortable communicating with physicians, other health care professionals and executives. 3 years of experience working in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity & diversity. Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience leading project teams and large projects within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Highly effective communicator with demonstrated skill in verbal and written communication; ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Experience with MS Office suite, including MS Project and Visio, and MS Teams. Motivated and adaptable team player. Proven ability to foster relationships and partnerships with complex and varied internal and external individuals and groups. Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Strong facilitation and mediation skills. Demonstrated application of systems thinking, and change management. Experience in designing & delivering education to adult learners. Preferred Qualifications:

Training in process improvement & health services planning is an asset. Advanced knowledge & skills in relevant knowledge management practices. Extensive knowledge of the health system and healthcare issues. Significant experience in critical-thinking, analysis, problem-solving, negotiation, investigation & concerns resolution. Exp. managing physical & human resources & related financial / statistical information.
