  • Acting in the role of Senior Project Manager, the incumbent will be accountable to initiate, plan, manage, deploy, coach and/or influence security deliverables on-time, on-budget and within the required quality whilst being innovative, efficient, creative, scalable, adaptable, and dynamic, complying with all standards and best practices in support of the deliverable objective(s).
  • Ensures that appropriate organization, governance, decision making, and delivery structures are in place to drive value reflecting quantitative and/or qualitative results.
  • Work closely with the Sponsor(s) and Product Owner(s) to define the desired outcome, approach, and planning to implement and operationalize the deliverable ensuring that standard and best practice for managing are applied to plan.
  • Provide oversight in defining the required expectations and the alignment to the identified success criteria. This involves assisting in the facilitation of discovery sessions, interviews and analysis, including the identification of functional and non-functional specifications, and in defining the change from current to future state processes/workflows.
  • Ensures that appropriate organization, governance, decision making, and delivery structures are in place to drive value reflecting quantitative and/or qualitative results.
  • Ensure a plan is clearly defined enabling a highly coordinated execution.
  • While perform regular risk reviews proactively identify, decompose, and remove impediments (both independently or with others) to ensure consistent velocity, predictability, and flow of work supports the teams with escalations and resolutions as required.
  • Establish project structure and reporting relationships.
  • Responsible for the governance of the project budgets, working closely with the accountable Sponsor, and confirming the actuals through the SRC Business Office.
  • Collaborate with the SRC Business Office and Sourcing on vendor contracting and management.
  • Work closely with Security Architecture on ensuring that a sound and future proof architecture solution is planned and meeting the technical quality standards, approach, and methodology of the organization.
  • Ensure that everybody understands the project goals, roles and responsibilities and operational readiness.
  • Organize and maintain effective communication, both internal (within project team) and external (with other project stakeholders and business partners).
  • Implement and promote where applicable the use of Agile methodology.
  • Facilitation of Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, sprint review, retrospectives, and daily standup.
  • Create a forum for discussing vision, goals, and approach to operationalize solution, including the need to maintain a Product Backlog of items that could not be delivered within the designated budget.
  • Identify, manage, and help mitigate issues and risks, with particular emphasis on timely removal of impediments / obstacles for quick resolution. o Ensure that proper documentation is maintained.
What do you need to succeed?
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery / transformation / training / coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage large initiatives with multiple functional and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and project delivery skills.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively negotiate with senior stakeholders.
  • Experienced with making presentations to large groups and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to facilitate project task prioritization and management of key decisions.
  • Experience managing projects which involve 3rd party managed services.
  • Experience in leading offshoring and global projects.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with strong process management knowledge.
  • Ability to resolve conflicting situations.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong sense of \xe2\x80\x9cTeam.\xe2\x80\x9d
  • IT experience and/or understanding of Security control environment would be an asset.
  • Formal Agile training / certification would be an asset.
  • Experience in DevOps and Agile Toolset (JIRA, Confluence) would be an asset.
Note:
  • Some travel may be required between the Toronto Offices and the Waterloo Offices.
  • As a global organization, the Senior Project Manager may be required to operate in favorable time zones.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
