We are currently seeking an experienced Roadways Senior Project Manager to join our team headquartered in the Saskatoon office. This is a permanent full-time position and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering roadway design, construction projects and related engineering studies to our public and private sector clients. This position offers an interesting variety of office and fieldwork on a diversified range of roadway construction projects. Responsibilities

  • Planning projects, developing accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and deliverables to execute high-quality projects on time and on the budget for highway and roadway projects
  • Preparing of project-related reports, memos, and letters
  • Review of quality assurance test results and survey calculations to company quality standards
  • Creating project plans and implementing sub-consultant and sub-contractor agreements
  • Developing health and safety plans, project budgets, and schedules
  • Executing projects in compliance with Quality Management System procedures, communicate with team and client, reconcile financials, and cull and archive files upon completion
  • Leading and supervising project teams including project managers, survey crews, and materials technicians in support of the project
  • Maintaining current knowledge of leading-edge project management practice
  • Ensuring environmental and safety legislative requirements are met
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities, writing proposals, and developing Statements of Qualifications
  • Liaising between stakeholders and the client
Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Applicants must be Professional Engineers registered or eligible to register with APEGS. People with applicable Limited Licenses will also be eligible
  • Minimum 7 years of Canadian roadway construction experience as a project manager or senior project manager or a minimum of 12 years of Canadian roadway design and construction experience as a technician with an Applied Science Technologist or Certified Engineering Technologist designation. Applicants with directly relevant experience with less than the noted years of experience may be considered
  • Applicants must have been involved in at least 3 relevant projects in the past 5 years
  • Experience on Saskatchewan Transportation projects would be considered a strong asset
  • Experience with the design and construction of roads in the Canadian Prairie Region would be an asset
  • Must be extremely well organized and have the ability to manage and prioritize numerous tasks to ensure a commitment to project delivery, client service, and quality management
  • Proven success in delivering high-quality projects on time and on budget
  • Outstanding relationship building skills and ability to lead and manage by influence
  • An aptitude for and interest in planning, scheduling, and financial management
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment is necessary
  • Must possess a valid driver license, with a favourable driver's abstract
  • Availability and willingness to travel and work on project sites throughout Saskatchewan

Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, as dictated by applicable law. These positions may require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.

A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criterion.

To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required. As this position may be serving clients that have COVID-19 vaccination requirements for site access, we will be confirming your eligibility to comply with this requirement.

All qualified candidates will be considered for the role and will be eligible for relocation allowance if selected (and located outside of Saskatchewan).
