Position: Senior Project Manager (Backup and Recovery)

Background:
Our Financial Sector Client requires a Senior Project Manager to assist with backup and recovery initiatives within a larger data center relocation project. It will be on-site, downtown Toronto three days per week, with the remaining two days being remote.
The work is closely tied to both Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements, with the ideal candidate not only bringing strong data center relocation experience but also a background in navigating complex compliance and regulatory environments.
Candidates who have successfully managed projects under strict regulatory oversight, particularly within banking or other highly regulated industries, would be a strong fit. Familiarity with cross-border considerations, audit readiness, and governance frameworks around backup and recovery would be especially valuable.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager
Available to work on-site in Toronto
Project Management Certification is an asset
Experience with multiple data center projects
Experience with multiple backup and recovery initiatives
Strong personality with experience communicating with business, technical and regulatory teams.
Expected Tasks:
Working with regulatory, cross border considerations, audit readiness, and governance frameworks surrounding backup and recovery.
Managing technical teams, ensuring progress and direction of the project
Manage the project during the development, implementation and operations startup by ensuring that resources are made available and that the project is developed and is fully operational within previously agreed time, cost and performance parameters
Formulate statements of problems; establishes procedures for the development and implementation of significant, new or modified project elements to solve these problems, and obtains approval thereof
Define and document the objectives for the project; determine budgetary requirements, the composition, roles and responsibilities and terms of reference for the project team
Report progress of the project on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle
Meets in conference with stakeholders and other project managers and states problems in a form capable of being solved
Prepare plans, charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems; work with a variety of project management tools
