Reporting to the Project Director the Senior Project Manager is an experienced construction professional with business unit portfolio and client focus. Driven by commitment to the organization, the incumbent is a team-builder with broad spectrum talent that allows for the management of key relationships from client to the project team, external stakeholders, and field supervision. Fully proficient with the technical, leadership, and communication skills required to fully lead complex projects and a single entry project from estimate to close-out, the incumbent can manage all aspects of project financials, costing, safety, quality, subcontracting, labour, and equipment. Significant technical and executional ability makes the incumbent the most capable and knowledgeable project administrator in the operations structure. The incumbent leverages the various AoEs to ensure proper execution of work and compliance with policy and management systems and displays a broader and longer-term view of not only the portfolio as a component of the business unit, but also of broader company dynamics and how the goals of the business unit play into overall corporate strategy. The incumbent provides a single point of leadership on subcontracted work and on smaller scale self-perform projects and may work in tandem with a Construction Manager or at least a senior superintendent to focus on craft needs, provide leadership in technical areas, and assure safety, quality, and productivity meet expectations.

As a Senior Project Manager at Graham, you will:



Engage Preconstruction in preparing, revising, and monitoring information related to costs involved in developing the project budget Oversee the subcontracting process, which includes facilitating initial scope review meetings, finalizing agreed processes, developing subcontract scopes of work, and managing the subcontract distribution and final execution process Overseeing budget estimates and deliverables to the client Oversee the development of any organizational responsibility matrix and directly approve project resources as required Oversee the review of contract documents with project participants and the commercial manager to ensure terms are clear on deliverables so that project work will be completed on time and within budget Oversee the development of regular status reports for company executives and client committees/representatives that detail the status of the project and recommending actions to be taken Ensure that project schedule, milestone dates, and closeout checklist are prepared and maintained during the project lifecycle Approve and communicate the performance standards and metrics by which the team will be measured against Establish and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, construction joint-venture partners, financing partners, key specialist subcontractors, as well as other stakeholders, such as design teams, suppliers, and user groups Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations Negotiate skillfully in tough situations with internal and external parties by winning concessions without damaging relationships and being direct and diplomatic Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance and promote Graham Proactively seek new business opportunities through relationships

Qualifications:



A minimum of 8 years of direct construction project management experience in the buildings sector Technical Diploma or a Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field Extensive knowledge of construction methods and project management processes Ability to train project staff in all aspects of project requirements Strong skills in stakeholder management Capable of 3+ small to medium projects or senior team member on a single medium to large project Able to make recommendations, take action, and make proactive decisions based on strong technical proficiency and significant business experience and acumen. Takes forward-looking view of future team development and growth Technically/fully proficient in all project KPIs and 3 core areas of estimating/procurement, field management and project management. Emphasis on contract and conflict and claims management skills

Compensation:



$134,000 to $201,000 per annum Salary will commensurate with education and experience Excellent Flexible Health & Dental benefits plan, Life and Disability Insurance Pension savings plan with employer match 3 to 5 weeks of vacation per year, with credit for prior industry experience
