Reporting to the Project Manager, Tailings and Environment, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for mine, mill and tailings aspects of the closure.

Accountabilities:

Manage system for project file set up, preparation, and distribution of work instructions to facilitate field operations, maintain safety and other project documentation in file.
Monitor contractors and sub-contractors for compliance to Glencore HSEC standards, the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, including review and enforcement of sub-contractor checklist. Correct any violations and report back to the Project Manager
Ensure accurate and detailed cost tracking, reporting, and forecasting of projects.
Complete trade-off studies to provide recommendations on closure projects.
Manage engineering studies, risk assessments and work scopes for third party project engineering services, field investigations and construction activities.
Responsible for sequencing and prioritizing project execution.
Provide post-construction support in conjunction with the architect-engineers, and construction contractors.
Coordinate analysis of site options for closure activities, prepare cost estimates, and completed discounted cash flow analysis.
Monitoring and controlling daily project performance to maintain cost, schedule, scope, and quality.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have:
Professional Engineer or equivalent mining industry experience
7+ years mine projects (concept, pre-feasibility and feasibility)
Experience in financial and cost modeling
Demonstrated ability to handle a varied workload in a fast-paced environment while leading teams to achieve deadlines
Good oral and written communication skills
