BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA has an opening for a Senior Project Engineer. This is a permanent full-time position located in Charlottetown, PEI.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Prioritizing and executing assigned project deliverables. Ensuring that all equipment is commissioned and qualified according to the Master Validation Plan and/or other project quality documents, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participating and taking a leadership role in the development of capital project scope, goals, user requirement specifications (USR), quotes; prioritizing and executing assigned project deliverables, while operating within budget and schedules.
  • Provides guidance or hands on startup of new process equipment and instrumentation, including troubleshooting equipment and instrumentation during commissioning activities.
  • Assembling, executing and reviewing Turn Over Packages (TOP) for systems and equipment. Developing and executing Equipment Qualification Protocols (EQP) including and execution of these protocols. Data collection and statistical analysis.
  • Reviewing and updating "As Built" drawings in coordination with outside contractors and the project team.
  • Organizing project paperwork, drawings and files
  • Coordinating project startup, commissioning and validation activities with internal and external groups.
  • Supporting Maintenance Department and trades people (electrical, mechanical, and structural) by providing advice or guidance and direction for repair, calibration, and sourcing parts, as required.
  • Determining critical spares and project consumables. Conferring with vendors to verify products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Researching technical information for the installation, maintenance, and operation of instruments and equipment. Determining the critical testing requirements for instrumentation and equipment prior to qualification.
  • Collaborating with maintenance staff.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor\'s request.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Five years previous work experience in a pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Ten years applicable work experience in design, manufacturing, construction.
  • Experience in preparing user requirement specs (URS), request for quotes (FRQ), tenders and bid packages.
  • Hands on experience with the starting up and commissioning instruments and process equipment.
Entry: $ 75,000 Salary
