- SENIOR PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
- Objective:
- Are you ready to make an impact? We\xe2\x80\x99re seeking an ambitious individual who thrives on project accounting with experience in the real estate sector. We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to oversee the monthly accounting and reporting processes for development projects and corporate entities. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with project managers, providing financial insights, fulfilling information requests, and conducting detailed financial analysis.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Finance:
- Execute monthly accounting close procedures.
- Prepare timely financial statements.
- Handle full accounts payable cycle, including vendor communication and reconciliation.
- Review progress billing invoices for construction projects to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor budget changes and update financial models.
- Process daily transactions (wires, loan requests).
- Assist senior executives with requested financial analysis.
- Manage cash flow effectively.
- Prepare compliance filings (HST, Corporate Tax).
- Collaborate with external accountants for year-end financials and obtaining loans.
- Investor Relations:
- Compile monthly investor reports.
- Create and distribute budget approval sheets.
- Generate and disperse monthly financial statements.
- Facilitate distribution of capital calls.
- Support monthly development plan distribution.
Professional Qualifications & Experience:
- Designation: CPA, CGA, or CMA (or active enrollment in the CPA program).
- Education: Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role or corporate accounting. Project Accounting experience in the real estate industry is an asset.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, proficient in Microsoft Office and Sage Accounting.
