About this opportunity:
Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99 Atlantic Region is seeking a Senior Production Engineer for the St. John\'s, NL office. As a Senior Production Engineer, you will provide production engineering expertise to the Subsurface Engineering team responsible for the development of the West White Rose field.
The successful candidate will assist in designing and executing West White Rose development wells. Following well construction, the candidate will be monitoring well performance, integrity and identifying optimization opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Well Design & Execution
Provide Production Engineering technical design, analysis, and documentation to the Well Design and Execution process in support of the West White Rose well program
Integrate with multidisciplinary design team to optimize well drilling trajectories and completions requirements; assess completion equipment sizing and evaluate artificial lift options
Technical support during well construction phase, and incorporate learnings into depletion plan and well architecture
Incorporate Well Designs and Reservoir Data into Wellbore simulation and Nodal Analysis Models
Complete Risk Assessments on Well Delivery and assist in mitigation strategies
Organize and manage production studies (i.e, formation fluid testing)
Prepare and update regulatory applications and interface with the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB)
Well Integrity
Support technical well envelope design and barrier management
Steward souring and corrosion risks to well integrity and identify mitigation strategies
Support flow assurance modeling and risk mitigation for wells
Well integrity anomaly management and risk characterization
Maintain and execute operational well integrity management system
Facilities Interface
Complete nodal analysis for existing and future development wells
Steward subsurface operational and facilities interfaces; participate in risk reviews as needed
Provide subsurface guidance for measurement and fluid allocation systems
Support well start-up and operational guidelines from the subsurface perspective
Support engineering evaluations of brownfield upgrades to support subsurface requests
Well and Reservoir Surveillance
Provide well management and surveillance of West White Rose wells within an integrated subsurface team: optimizing production, water & gas injection and artificial lift
Make recommendations on operational strategies to improve well and reservoir production
Identify interventions and workovers to improve well performance or remediate well integrity
Provide input into flow assurance and production chemistry management plans
Implement reservoir and facility inputs into short and long term production profiles
Work with operations group to maximize uptime, troubleshoot anomalies and develop work instructions
Evaluate production optimization opportunities in the Integrated Production Model.
Data & Management Systems
Investigate and develop data analytics, visualization and advanced computational methods to improve asset management
Support the Production Engineering components of SSDCI Management System
Support Production Engineering data acquisition, storage, and handling
Other
Participating in the Atlantic Region Emergency Response Plan, as assigned
Keep informed of technical advancements in the field of production engineering
Mentoring other production engineering staff as needed
Work with joint venture partners to advance production engineering design and operational learnings across JV operations
Support offshore work scope implementation physically on West White Rose or SeaRose, as required
Qualifications:
BSc in Engineering
Professional Engineer or eligibility for status with PEG-NL is required
8+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preference for production engineering experience
Ability to work effectively within a team and within the organization to achieve goals, and to identify and resolve problems
Ability to adapt to a variable working environment with changing tasks, responsibilities, and people
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key issues based on relevant data and provide appropriate solutions/recommendations
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
Capable of acting independently, when required, and with initiative to achieve goals beyond what is required
Experience that includes exposure to an offshore and/or harsh weather subsea and platform development environment is an asset.
Ability to travel offshore, if required, with appropriate medical and safety certifications
