Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a well-established, privately-owned engineering firm providing EPCM services to the energy industry in Canada and internationally, including project management, engineering, drafting and design, procurement, construction management and regulatory services.
We are currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer to work on a variety of challenging and innovative projects in natural gas, oil, fractionation, carbon sequestration, acid gas injection, hydrogen generation, and transmission projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead and collaborate on technically challenging initiatives that drive operational excellence.
As a member of our process engineering team your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Develop engineering drawings including BFD, PFDs and P&IDs.
Prepare technical studies, specifications, and project documentation.
Perform and refine process simulations using tools like Symmetry, ProMax or HYSYS.
Complete sizing calculations and evaluation of new or existing equipment.
Develop process simulations and calculations for H&MB creation.
Execute multiple small to large projects, ensuring cross-discipline coordination.
Attend and contribute to internal team and technical discussion meetings.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project team members, and suppliers.
Manage team deliverables within deadlines and budgets.
Meet and communicate directly with clients on technical project matters.
Share and coordinate information between engineering and drafting disciplines.
Participate in the project design, layout and execution.
Prepare progress reports, progress tracking, technical reports, meeting minutes, and project documents.
Provide mentorship and leadership to Junior Process Engineers.
Work directly with other Project Managers and the Business Development team in the development of project proposals.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in chemical, process or petrochemical engineering.
P.Eng. in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator, e.g. APEGA, EGBC, APEGS, or EGMB.
Minimum 12 years of EPCM or energy project experience in Canada.
Prior experience with projects involving refrigeration, amine sweetening, natural gas compression, separation, and modular piping systems.
Prior experience with deep cut or turboexpander plants is considered an asset.
Prior experience in oil and gas or process facilities is considered an asset.
Knowledge of processing equipment, including separation, compression, pumps, and distillation systems is preferred.
Experience designing sweet and sour natural gas facilities and grassroots gas processing plants.
Familiarity with design codes such as ASME, API, NACE etc.
Understanding of project controls, change management, procurement systems and procedures.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work and adapt in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
Occasional travel to facilities may be required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
