Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Senior Planning & Performance Analyst, to serve as a key support partner within the Finance Planning & Performance Management team. This role goes beyond traditional financial reporting - it focuses on delivering insights, building financial models, and supporting decision-making that drives business performance.
Reporting to the Head of Planning & Performance Management for Zurich Canada, you will provide analyses of business unit results, enhance reporting, planning and forecasting processes, and collaborate cross-functionally to align financial objectives with business goals.

What you will do
Support the AVP, Planning & Performance Management and Head of Planning and Performance Management by preparing analytical reviews of overall and independent business unit performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports and presentations with commentary and insights to a broad range of executive audiences within Canada and Group Planning & Performance Management.
Design and maintain advanced dashboards and reporting tools for leadership visibility.
Drive automation and process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy. Identify and implement enhancements to planning/forecasting tools, processes, and methodologies.
Support special projects and business initiatives, including developing financial models and scenario analysis to strengthen strategic planning and decision-making.
Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Business Unit Partners to align forecasts and KPIs with strategic objectives.
Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table
Required:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
Experience with planning tools (e.g., SAP-BPC, Anaplan) and ERP systems (SAP/BW).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to tell a compelling story with data.
Proven ability to influence without authority and collaborate across functions.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
5 or more years of experience in commercial P&C insurance industry.
MBA and/or CPA designation is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with IFRS 17 standards and insurance industry practices is an asset.
Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Basic:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, Data Science, or related field and 5 or more years of experience in planning and performance management, or FP&A roles.
OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in financial performance and analytics, in P&C Insurance.
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an associate degree with 7 or more years of experience in financial performance and analytics, in P&C Insurance.
At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $135,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range, but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate's skills and experience.
