Our client, a leading importer of branded apparel for men, women and kids, is looking for a Senior Outerwear Designer to join their team!!!
Responsibilities:
- Presenting seasonal lines developed, providing relevant insight consistent with
market trends for their outerwear division.
- Support merchandiser in specific design development projects
- Trend research. (Keep up to date with emerging and current trends)
- Work in collaboration with buyers and sales team on trends and customer needs
- Create design and technical sketches (CADS )
- Create, develop, and edit detailed technical packages, including detailed technical
sketches in Adobe Illustrator and Technical BOMs (bill of materials)
- Creating and overseeing design to ensure quick flow through and strong adherence
to the production calendar
- Work closely with the fit and spec / technical team to ensure the styling and quality
from development stage of each product to final production.
- Approve production sample
Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of experience in a similar role
- College-level degree in Fashion Design or related experience
- Relevant experience in contemporary fashions is a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office software
- Excellent fashion sense and ability to translate trends
- Proven experience in garment construction and design
- Proven knowledge of the production cycle
- Proven ability to collaborate with all functions and all levels
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and be flexible
- Strong attention to detail
- Results oriented
- A strong team player with the ability to influence others
