As a Senior Operations Officer, Client Onboarding, you will be responsible for providing oversight/control of client account opening and maintenance documents, to help reduce risk with applicable regulating bodies.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, analyze and approve/reject requests or submitted documents, using various applications
  • Support various mid-office functions and ensure superior service is provided to Scotiatrust, Private Investment Counsel, and Canadian Wealth Management branches while working closely with internal and external groups that support these businesses
  • Assist management in the development and delivery of innovative solutions and improved processes, to allow the businesses to focus on client service and business growth
  • Provide exceptional client service support on Client Onboarding related queries by remaining current and informed on existing and new industry regulations and firm policies and procedures
  • Ensure the effective delivery of operational and administrative support to Canadian Wealth Management branches
  • Complete ongoing quality control reviews of system data, operational processes, and distribution of exception reporting to branches, and maintain client account integrity by performing sundry items as required
The Must Haves:
  • Post-secondary education
  • 1-2 years\' experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a back-office role opening accounts and reviewing documents
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practice handbook (CPH) is an asset
  • Prior knowledge of the securities / brokerage operations including areas such as Client Onboarding and Regulatory Documentation
  • Prior knowledge of financial industry policies and regulations including AML/ATF, Privacy, KYC, QI & FATCA, IIROC Reg 1300 and CRS
  • Knowledge of Broadridge, SharePoint, AS400, Score, WebPost, Trust GUI, and WealthOne

  • Excellent time management skills
