Your Opportunity:The Senior Operating Officer (SOO) Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) works within Alberta Health Services\' (AHS) clinical dyad model of physician and administrative co-leads to advance accessible, quality, patient and family centered focused health services. The SOO FMC is expected to act as Calgary Zone lead for tertiary/quaternary health as well as AHS lead and expert in tertiary/quaternary health care initiatives for the zone, the province, nationally and internationally. The SOO FMC, is a leadership role in Alberta Health Services reporting to the Chief Zone Officer, Calgary Zone, Alberta. This position is responsible and accountable for providing operational leadership to a diverse team in the development, design and implementation of programs and services within FMC. Integral to the spectrum of care is the tertiary nature of FMC, which includes excellence in research and education. FMC SOO works closely with Calgary Zone and AHS adult care focused leaders and colleagues across AHS, nationally and internationally.Description:This senior leadership position is ultimately responsible for positively influencing/meeting provincial and zonal program and site targets. Impacts high performing teams with site wide recruitment efforts and savings initiatives. This position manages the smooth operations of the Alberta\'s largest hospital: 1,105 inpatient beds 12,000 employees; 2,600 physicians; 650 volunteers Daily average of 125 inpatient admissions and discharges; 210 ED visits/day: ED admission rate of 28 per cent 700,000+ outpatient visits annually 72 Critical Care beds This position develops and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders within AHS, across Canada and international organizations. The SOO, FMC is a major contributor to the success and operationalization of AHS health services including services and initiatives in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The SOO, FMC will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and leadership executives in order to provide leadership to and oversee the operations of hospital care and services to support the improvement of performance throughout the continuum of care. The SOO FMC will establish strategies for the implementation, operationalization, management and monitoring of provincially integrated health services, ensuring delivery in the most effective and efficient manner.

Required Qualifications:Minimum of graduate degree in health care management, business administration or a related health care field. The incumbent will demonstrate a minimum of five years\' experience in senior-level health leadership experience and have a proven record of accomplishments, Board Director experience, Leadership experience in a tertiary level, research focused hospital.
Additional Required Qualifications:Extensive experience in senior leadership of large and diverse range of functions in a health care setting. Successful record of achievement as a leader, including considerable leadership experience at a senior management level. Ability to creatively manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex and dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to forge partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a collective agreement. Strategic planning experience. Effective organizational and change management skills. Establishing positive and mutually beneficial relationships with the community and industry. Fostering a climate of cooperation amongst, and building solid relationships with public agencies, government agencies, boards, committees and other partners. Team membership and Team leadership skills. A clear pattern of professional, progressive and personal development.
