What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Senior Noise and Vibration Engineer, you will lead efforts to evaluate, analyze, and mitigate noise and vibration impacts for a variety of projects, including transportation infrastructure, industrial facilities, and urban developments. Your role will involve conducting field measurements, utilizing advanced modeling software, and developing innovative mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams to address technical challenges and provide expert guidance on noise and vibration management. Additionally, your day may include preparing technical reports, providing mentorship to junior staff, and contributing to business development initiatives. Your expertise will help shape quieter, more sustainable communities by balancing environmental concerns with development goals. Through continuous collaboration with stakeholders, you will drive effective solutions that improve acoustic environments and mitigate potential disturbances.
What You'll Do:

Conduct and lead a team to conduct noise and vibration impact assessments for transportation, industrial, land development, and construction projects.
Oversee field monitoring and data analysis to evaluate compliance with regulatory standards and develop baseline and impact assessments.
Develop mitigation strategies to minimize noise and vibration impacts.
Utilize advanced modeling tools (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN) to predict and assess impacts.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions, including supporting environmental approvals and permitting processes.
Engage with internal multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, government agencies and Indigenous communities. Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to business development initiatives.
Conduct community consultations and stakeholder engagement regarding noise and vibration concerns.
Assist in developing noise control policies and guidelines for projects.
Lead technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions within the team.
Manage projects including technical work delivery, budget, schedule, and communications.
Build and maintain internal and external client relationships, and work with the senior leadership team to help drive the business plan.
Occasional travel and overtime may be required.
What You'll Need:
:
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in noise and vibration assessment.
Proficiency in noise and vibration modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN).
Strong knowledge of federal and provincial noise and vibration regulations.
Field monitoring experience using specialized equipment.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as all aspects of project development and delivery (i.e., proposal through to deliverables, including time and budget management).
Valid Ontario driver's licence is required.
