Job Summary

Under general direction, responsible for moderately complex engineering and/or analytical activities with one or more technical areas within data and security network functions such as, but not limited to, engineering, implementation, operational/user support of data communication and security layers and systems within the Global Information Systems' Infrastructure group. Proactively monitors, troubleshoots and supports core network, network security and end user data network need including servers, applications and desktop phones, voice mails, pagers, cell phones, data connectivity to host systems and applications. Troublehsoots and assists in voice network and applications while engaging and gaining experiences on the voice network. Ensures long-term requirements of data/security/voice systems operations and administration are met through data analysis, trending and reporting. Actively involved in developing and promoting standard operating procedures, work instructions and standards documents. Conducts routine audits of data network and network security layers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. On-Call required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Holds technical responsibility for general administration and operation of the global data/security/voice network and all communication systems in alignment with the GIS strategy, guidelines, principles, policies and procedures.
  • Provides 2nd and 3rd level Support to our end-user communication systems in accordance with GIS Service Level Agreement.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with the GIS Incident Management process and GIS Change Management process.
  • Assists in fulfilling departmental objectives and obligations.
  • Investigates, diagnoses and resolves incidents with co-workers and customers.
  • Serves as a technical specialist dealing with Apotex's management staff with more customized or complex current and/or short-term information technology needs.
  • Updates the call track system in accordance with GIS processes. Monitors and communicates progress of incidents and escalates if necessary.
  • Liaises regularly with their internal customers & teams to understand their needs and keep them current with the progress and findings of applicable projects and technology
  • Responds to complex and/or unconventional queries from managers, team members, other employees, and internal customers and provide policy interpretations, technical and business process advice in their area of technical information technology expertise.
  • Provides accurate and complete documentation of processes and procedures to ensure that systems can be supported.
  • Required to be on-call. All such work will be covered by the requirements of the on-call policy.
  • Utilizes often highly analytical and problem solving techniques to identify root causes of issues with internal customers and contractors, or to determine courses of action in the performance of their more complex activities.
  • Develops an in depth understanding of all Apotex policies, procedures and standards and operating processes associated with their information technology area
  • Begins to take on a technical leadership role providing technical expertise and incorporates a commitment to on-going professional development and continuous learning
  • Ensures that their advice given to internal clients and co-workers complies with directives and is given in a professional manner.
  • Provides experienced level of input in the development/amendment of standards, policies and procedures and operating processes
  • Plans, implements and oversees small information technology projects
  • Proficient in use of office automation tools including: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Provides Status Reports, Expense Reports and Employee Time Exceptions Forms on a timely basis when required.

Job Requirements
  • Education
  • Engineering\Computer Science digree \ Vendor Certificates or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as presentation skills
  • Well-developed collaborative style and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix, client focused environment.
  • Proven customer service and support orientation with detailed knowledge and working experience with ITIL or similar service delivery/support models
  • Experienced in managing and configuring software-denifed mutli-layered internetworks in various models including cloud and hybrid.
  • Experienced data, voice and security network, troubleshooting, management reporting; traffic analysis, fault and performance monitoring, Ethernet and IP protocols.
  • Administration, Installation and implementation of data networking and network security devices and layers, including but not limited to; routers\switches, firewalls\proxy, wan optimizers, WIFI
  • Willing to learn new technologies and work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability and comfortable working under stress with high mutli-tasking skills
  • Experience
  • Working experience in a GMP and/or change controlled environment is an asset.
  • Experienced in facilitating network automation, installation, and configuration of processes and systems
  • Experienced in IEEE/ISO model protocols and in data/security/voice communication protocols and rolling out of networking and VoIP technologies on global basis.
  • Experience with wireless (WiFI) technology administration and cellular (LTE) and in-building DAS
  • Experienced in event management systems including network management and monitoring tools
  • Ability to understand and analyze end user problems, and to troubleshoot on a timely manner
  • Installation and implementation of networking and security devices
  • Knowledgable and assist in routine moves, adds and changes (MACs) on voice and data equipment in co-ordination with Logistics staff
  • Basic Knowledge in scanning technologies (RF and Fixed mount) including configuration, set up, programming and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with and supporting network-based voice enabled infrastructure that includes routing, switching and CallManager cluster environments
  • Learn voice mail systems including administration, set up and configuration i.e. Cisco Unity Connection
  • Knowledge on working with SIP/CUBE gateways and Unified Communication Systems
  • Administor and Responsible for email systems including cloud based email (e.g 0365)
  • Aware and knowdgeable of Contact Centre components
  • In-depth knowledge on Windows operating systems, Active Directory.
  • Well acquainted of collaboration technologies and components from major players. Examples Microsoft or Cisco
  • Experienced in processing of bills
