Job Description


:Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Manager/ Network Architect, this position is responsible for overseeing all Internet Services, LAN, WAN and WLAN infrastructure the ideal candidate should be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in the architecture of new network/network security related solutions ensuring they are compatible with the company\'s business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Assume stewardship, technical authority and lifecycle management for overall performance and availability of assigned systems.
  • Review and analyze new requests, work with IT partners, vendors, and business leaders to understand network communication needs; Develop solutions and recommendations for business initiatives regarding LAN/WAN and wireless Infrastructures.
  • Responsible for the overall physical network cabling including standards and general health of the cabling environment.
  • Design, implementation and support of enterprise LAN/WAN and wireless Infrastructures.
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and
  • Perform vulnerability testing.
  • Maintain strong understanding of the business services directly or indirectly supported by assigned systems, ensuring alignment in priorities through customer dialogue
  • Demonstrate technical leadership by leading technical teams and mentoring staff
  • Create strong documentation, processes and automation to multiply operating effectiveness.
  • Configure firewalls, load balancers, proxies and other network equipment and provision of network services.
  • Install, configure and maintain network hardware, for example, Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, Meraki controllers/AP and Aruba Wireless Controllers/AP.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support.
  • Manage network security tools, e.g., firewall, anti-virus and intrusion detection systems.
  • Evaluate, plan, implement, upgrade, secure, monitor and maintain assigned systems.
  • Develop testing strategies to ensure infrastructure changes are successful and perform system testing as required.
  • Develop change requests including implementation, communication, testing and back out plans.
  • Identification of opportunities and proposal of solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain documentation and provides reports on maintenance contracts, SLAs and warranty information on of network assets
  • Establish and maintain IT processes supporting network administration and network assets.
  • Follow IT policies and procedures and maintain working knowledge of utilized technologies.
  • Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
  • Build strong working relationships with guests and employees and vendors
  • Comply with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT with proven experience in the administration of LAN, WAN, WLAN and Security infrastructure.
  • Post-secondary education in IT or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and positive service-oriented communication
  • CCNA required or suitable work experience
  • CCNP/CCIE and PCNSE will be desirable or suitable work experience
  • Proven troubleshooting experience for O/S, application, network, workstation and laptop technologies
  • Valid Class 5 Driver\'s License
