This new space will enable teamwork, collaboration and innovation that will help us to achieve our mission to electrify life in one generation.JOB OVERVIEWOntario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Mobile Device Analyst (MDM).Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Services, this position is responsible for managing the lifecycle of mobile devices and telecommunications equipment within OPG. The role includes receiving, shipping, wiping, and cataloguing cell phones; monitoring and responding to inquiries related to device activations, upgrades, and repairs; and interfacing with mobile vendors such as Bell and Rogers. Additionally, this position handles billing of accounts with mobile vendors, collaborates with security to manage mobile devices, and assists in investigating and troubleshooting system failures and malfunctions.Key responsibilities also include maintaining current system technology awareness, managing back-up and recovery documentation, and conducting inventory audits. The role involves performing administrative activities to ensure efficient day-to-day operations, maintaining records and inventories, and supporting the efficiency of telecommunications and other computerized equipment like APN and routers.The successful candidate will provide guidance to users, participate in delivering demonstrations of new software and equipment, and assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures.   • Receive, ship, wipe, and catalogue cell phones.
  • Monitor and respond to OPG cell phone inquiries such as device activations, upgrades, repairs, etc. via the OPG Mobility Mailbox and/or ITAR Requests.
  • Interface with mobile vendors such as Bell, Rogers, etc.
  • Handle billing of accounts with the mobile vendors.
  • Interact with security when necessary to facilitate management of mobile devices.
  • Assist and document the investigation/troubleshooting of system failures and malfunctions, and take corrective action, as necessary. Arrange for other assistance as required.
  • Maintain an awareness of current system technology.
  • Maintain back-up and recovery documentation and inventories of packaged and/or spare parts hardware and accessories, as well as conduct inventory audits.
  • Perform all related administrative activities to maintain efficient day-to-day operation as per procedures. Develop and maintain records, inventories, and systems and perform clean-up procedures as required.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative activities to maintain the efficiency of telecommunications and other computerized equipment such as APN, Routers, etc.
  • Provide guidance to users, participating in and delivering demonstrations of new software, equipment, and operational procedures, including installation and testing.
  • Other Duties as Required.
EDUCATION
  • Requires a four-year university degree in computer science, or by having the equivalent level of education.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years in roles related to IT service delivery, telecommunications, and mobile device management.
  • Requires knowledge of mobile device management, including receiving, shipping, wiping, and cataloguing cell phones.
  • Requires experience in monitoring and responding to mobile device inquiries, including activations, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Requires familiarity with interfacing with mobile vendors such as Bell, Rogers, etc., and handling billing of accounts.
  • Requires understanding of the principles of telecommunications equipment, including APN, routers, and other computerized equipment.
  • Requires knowledge of maintaining back-up and recovery documentation, inventories, and conducting inventory audits.
  • Requires experience in investigating and troubleshooting system failures and malfunctions, as well as arranging for assistance as needed.
  • Requires knowledge of system technology and the ability to maintain an awareness of current developments.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills to provide guidance to users, participate in, and deliver demonstrations of new software, equipment, and operational procedures.
  • Requires experience in performing administrative activities to maintain efficient day-to-day operations and developing and maintaining records, inventories, and systems.
  • Requires experience in providing training and education to users on new systems and procedures.
  • Requires knowledge of computer science to gain an appreciation of design concepts related to computing equipment and software, to provide computerized solutions to varying OPG requirements.
  • Requires good verbal and written communications skills, to coordinate the needs of clients, suppliers, and divisional staff.
  • Requires experience to obtain knowledge of the clients\' organizations, functions of the application systems, databases, products, computers, communications, and associated equipment.
  • Requires additional experience to operate at a senior level, and to become familiar with responsibilities related to project leadership.
  • Requires experience to perform an advisory function to the line of business, to be able to define clients\' information technology requirements and advise regarding the selection and application of computer systems and equipment.
  • Requires experience to understand new and existing information processing concepts, computer and communications equipment, and software.
