We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Toronto office. We are looking for someone who can support our growing Data Center portfolio and help us continue to build and establish our Science & Technology offering in Toronto.
The opportunity

  • Lead mechanical design for Data Centers, Laboratories, and other Science & Technology projects.
  • Help influence clients to incorporate more sustainable design options in projects and reduce embodied carbon in buildings
  • Coordinate with multiple subject areas and working in conjunction with project managers
  • Attend client meetings and interact directly with clients
  • Conduct thermal load modeling for projects and use BIM
  • Present technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop commercial skills as a Project manager on your projects, building this skill for further carrier development

Is this role right for you?
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6+ years experience designing building HVAC systems, including airside and hydronic system components, with past project experience in Data Centers and mission critical operations.
  • Background knowledge in critical codes that apply to mission critical environment such as CSA, Uptime institute, and understanding of correlation of electrical and mechanical systems in mission critical settings.
  • P.Eng or working towards obtaining your P.Eng.
  • Proficient with 3D BIM software including Revit MEP.
  • Proficient with IES and other load analysis software for calculations.
  • Experience leading medium size projects from a mechanical design perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading small project teams.
  • The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment.
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.

Toronto Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $112,650 to $138,392 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
