Position Overview

We are seeking a

Senior Mechanical Engineer

with hands-on experience in the

design and development of special purpose machines

, automated systems, and precision mechanical assemblies. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with a strong foundation in mechanical design, motion systems, and industrial automation -- capable of taking projects from concept through detailed design, fabrication, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the

design and development of custom machinery

, including conveyors, coating systems, rotary mechanisms, and process modules. Create

3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs

using CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent). Collaborate with electrical, controls, and process engineers to integrate

servo drives, actuators, and sensors

into mechanical systems. Oversee

fabrication, assembly, and testing

of prototype and production machines. Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-ups, and structural or thermal analysis (FEA preferred). Prepare

technical documentation

for manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance. Troubleshoot and optimize mechanical systems during pilot runs and commissioning. Support continuous improvement and standardization of design and manufacturing practices.
Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Mechanical Engineering

(P.Eng. designation or eligibility preferred).

8+ years

of experience in mechanical design, preferably in

custom machinery, process equipment, or automation systems

. Proven proficiency in

SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD platforms

. Strong understanding of

motion control, pneumatics, bearings, and mechanical drive systems

. Knowledge of

fabrication techniques, machining, and materials selection

(stainless steel, aluminum, polymers). Experience with

automation or coating machinery

is a strong asset. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D and production environment.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
