TD Legal is a team dedicated to providing legal advice and counsel to all TD business segments (Retail, Wealth, Insurance, Wholesale, Business Banking) as well as the Corporate Functions including Corporate Development, Enterprise Real Estate, Strategic Sourcing, Treasury, Global Anti-Money Laundering and Enterprise Technology & Shared Services).

The Senior Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Knowledge Management and Legal Service Delivery will lead and execute on an innovative legal service delivery program; leading special projects and strategic initiatives to connect people to the knowledge that they need to perform, and to support and enable the TD Legal department and our strategic external partners in managing risk and delivering value in the delivery of legal services. Depth & Scope This position will be part of the Knowledge Management and Strategic Enablement Team (KMSE) and will work with all legal Practice Groups helping to drive TD Legal\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and priorities in the way that legal services are delivered. The successful candidate will have strong legal operations experience and interest, be a seasoned program manager who is able to handle a high level of complexity, be confident in their problem-solving and project management abilities, communicate effectively with lawyers, technologists and executives, and excel in leading change. Accountabilities
  • Together with KMSE leadership, set vision and strategy for a transformational and best in class Knowledge Management program within a corporate legal department
  • Act as Business Owner of special projects and strategic initiatives to manage spend and optimize the value of the services that are delivered by the Legal Department, including our External Legal Service Provider program refresh.
  • Drive strategic goals, detailed program workplans and implementation roadmaps; define and track key performance indicators as measures of success.
  • Manage resources, tools and processes for end-to-end execution and enablement of the knowledge management strategy, the delivery of legal services to TD Bank and KMSE\xe2\x80\x99s overall vision.
  • Raise awareness and highlight the value of the Legal department\xe2\x80\x99s knowledge management system; and demonstrably help the department foster a knowledge-seeking and sharing culture
  • Positively and creatively influence desired departmental change; communicate program case for change; help others anticipate and manage through change
  • Use existing knowledge management capabilities to enhance and continually improve TD Legal\xe2\x80\x99s external counsel management program, internal governance and control programs and other strategic legal operation competencies
Requirements
Education, Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required
  • JD or LLB preferred
  • 10 years relevant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm with expertise in the field of external counsel management
  • Strong leadership, management and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Tech-savvy and well-versed in legal enterprise software, tools, and applications including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver initiatives on multiple workstreams concurrently using change management practices to facilitate transitions related to technology, processes, and people
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with a strong interest in learning, creating efficient processes and a seamless user experience
  • Strategic decision making, sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills required and proven track record in collaborating with diverse stakeholders and influencing change
  • Highest personal & professional integrity & standards
  • Ability to build relationships internally as well as externally
