This critical member of the People & Culture (P&C) team will work closely with the leadership team to define a roadmap for future Workday enhancements, while managing day to day system configurations and that will allow the P&C team and other internal stakeholders to optimally use the system to its fullest capacity to meet business needs. We seek a candidate who possesses not only the technical expertise, but also critical thinking, communication, and influencing skills.

As a Senior Manager, Workday HRIS, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage ongoing roadmap discussions on architecture and features of current Workday HCM, Compensation, Benefits, and Talent functionality, working with both the P&C resources and IT to design and implement solutions
  • Continually work with stakeholder users to gather, understand, and analyze business requirements
  • Advise stakeholders on industry standards, providing suggestions that achieve clean configuration and streamlined processes, prioritizing those that originate/reside with P&C
  • Supported by the firm's Application Support team, develop and implement Workday-based solutions that improve the user experience for all Grant Thornton colleagues
  • Provide subject matter expertise on key business process decisions
  • Lead the coaching and performance management/development for direct reports through goal-setting, providing guidance, regular and timely feedback, and learning opportunities for professional development
  • Understand and utilize Workday's Implementation Methodology and advise P&C/stakeholders and users on best practice
  • Manage configuration tasks within Workday
  • Management and administration of Workday modules and subsystems
  • Assist with data corrections or data transfer, drive consistent practice with other Workday users
  • Manage data integrity; including developing audit strategy and schedules, conduct data audits, research appropriate actions
  • Support the People-based reporting requirements for the firm
  • Partner with applicable functional resources for data integrity and cross-functional process enhancements
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues in the Workday system and escalate to IT as appropriate
  • Support benchmarking and analyze data to help understand the downstream impact
  • Test functionality of new Workday releases and ensure expected system operation across upgrades
  • Provide new user training for Workday and administrative processing for HR users

Think you've got what it takes to be a Senior Manager, Workday HRIS? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we're also hoping you can tick:
  • 8+ years of HRIS or IT systems / applications management experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Workday modules: HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Performance, Leave and Absence
  • BA/BSc in Business or similar experience/education
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and quantitative skills with the ability to analyze data for key trends
  • Strong acumen for technology and an aptitude for continuous learning
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills with ability to effectively influence and proactively act as a business partner
  • Proven track record of being a collaborative partner in a team environment
  • Strong sensitivity to handling confidential information
Consideration given for:
  • Workday HCM certification
  • 2+ years systems administration experience
  • 1+ years of experience managing a vendor relationship
