What is the opportunity?

As the Senior Manager, Recruitment, you will play a critical role in RBC's Capital Markets business as the primary relationship manager for all talent acquisition activity in Canada. You will liaise with the Human Resource Business Partners and the business leaders to ensure best in class talent acquisition strategies are in place for each business. You will source, screen and assess talent in order to provide counsel and recommendations to hiring managers on best fit. You will also be accountable for the effectiveness and efficiency of the recruitment team by building their capability, and supporting and implementing new tools, programs and processes to ensure RBC's external competitiveness.

What will you do?

  • Lead a recruitment team in an environment that encourages quick thinking, aggressive sourcing skills and a proactive approach towards talent acquisition.
  • Consult with business leaders to identify recruitment needs and create targeted and proactive recruitment strategies including segmented approaches where appropriate.
  • Conduct a thorough intake conversation with hiring manager detailing the position needs, scope and clarifying joint roles and expectations.
  • Embed diversity conversations in all recruitment and sourcing activities.
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert for managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Manage the recruitment process including document and tracking all pertinent information using Applicant Tracking System (Workday)
  • Coach and counsel recruitment team on sourcing techniques including complex search techniques, recruitment strategies, and consulting capability.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current best practices in talent acquisition including leveraging technology, social media, and industry networks.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • University degree or college diploma.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition; preferred candidates will have corporate and recruitment agency experience.
  • 3 + years of people management experience, preferably in a dynamic and diverse team.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage conflicting demands from all areas of the business while ensuring recruitment process is kept in motion with a focus on providing positive candidate and hiring manager experiences.
  • Expertise in talent acquisition data, trends, market intelligence and social media engagement techniques.
  • Ability to develop and nurture productive business relationships, and influence and educate managers, executives and all relevant stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience working in the Capital Markets sector is preferred
