Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Seasoned HR professional who can demonstrate relationship management breadth and influence in leading, planning and executing strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated consulting mindset with the ability to translate strategies into tangible actions
  • Proven track record for success having demonstrated the ability to take independent action to achieve results
  • Ability to manage multiple and/or complex issues with a high level of organizational awareness
  • Strong relationship, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to negotiate and facilitate at multiple levels within the business
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills as well as proven time management and organizational capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational awareness and understanding of HR programs/policies
  • Familiarity with the Project Management Methodology having managed or participated in a multitude of projects an asset

The Senior Manager, Strategy and Planning supports the SVP Human Resources, Canadian Personal Bank, Business Bank and TD Securities in achieving the business' strategic objectives. Working with the HR leadership team, the incumbent will provide day-to-day leadership on key initiatives, liaise with internal and external stakeholders (as applicable), conduct research, prepare analysis, briefings and communications while maintaining an overall understanding of the portfolio's strategies and direction.
  • Undertake and oversee a variety of projects and initiatives - often of a highly sensitive nature, and usually with minimal guidance or direction, ensuring discretion and ability to see items through to resolution/completion
  • Act as the Business Project Owner in leading cross enterprise initiatives under the executive sponsorship
  • Provide an overview of management information, discussions and/or business issues in advance of key business meetings and events
  • Support the development and tracking of milestones and other performance management tools and processes - provides summary reports on progress for executive review and consideration
  • Compose and/or review communications and where appropriate, summarize, responses and/or redirect to the appropriate person(s)
  • Anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise and advise accordingly
  • Identify issues and risks requiring research or analysis, recommend solutions/mitigations directly or in consultation with relevant functional / business leaders and provides meaningful information in response to issues/questions raised
  • Support HR in external commitments, including preparing briefing notes in advance of meetings, liaising with stakeholders, and coordinating required follow-up
  • Oversee effective communications, liaising with CAPA to ensure timely and relevant communications on key business issues, evaluating speaking opportunities, and drafting speaking notes
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with HR partners, business heads and their direct reports across TDBG
  • Organize and participate in HR meetings and planning initiatives by providing cross-business analysis, strategic perspective and following up on key deliverables
  • Facilitate weekly leadership meetings, including preparing the agenda, ensuring that topics presented are relevant and timely
