Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto\'s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Safety & System Assurance office is currently seeking (2) two Senior Manager, Safety and System Assurance to provide overall management and oversight driving systems, engineering assurance through the project and program lifecycles measurable through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) leading to projects and program delivery that achieves intended use and with better reliability, performance and service life of all Metrolinx\' assets. This role will oversee and manage team that performs Systems Engineering Assurance including, Senior Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Engineers.

What will I be doing?

  • Oversee, evaluate and assure the development and execution of systems assurance processes for all Metrolinx fleet and infrastructure assets leading to realization of reliability, availability and performance requirements.
  • Systems Engineering process for all Metrolinx Assets including, systems integration, requirements management, configuration management, integrated design and logistics management and interface management.
  • Oversees the review and auditing of contracted design and build for adherence to required Systems Engineering and System Assurance (RAMS) program activities.
  • Leads the development of recommendations for asset and operational reliability and manages performance criteria that will be incorporated into third party service agreements.
  • Oversees the review and auditing of asset operations and maintenance for adherence to required RAMS program activities and reporting requirements needed to evaluate overall system performance.
  • Leads the development and monitoring of balanced and focused metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for maintenance performance, asset reliability and costs.
  • Develops, maintains and leverages an internal network for strategic pursuits that are specifically targeted to improve the reliability and performance of assets and operations.
  • Provides strategic leadership directly professional staff, and indirectly leads other units in reliability and performance through subordinate supervisors.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a degree in Engineering, or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience/training in implementing and managing Systems Engineering and System Assurance programs with competency managing and leading technical/engineering teams
  • Valid Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) an asset.
