The Senior Manager, Regional Planning - East and Central, is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing supply planning processes at three manufacturing plants in Eastern Canada: Brampton, Weston, and Lachine. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring seamless production and raw material planning, budget planning, and succession planning within the supply chain department. The Senior Manager reports directly to the Director, Supply Planning and leads a team of 2 planning specialists and 1 manager.

Responsibilities

Production and Raw Materials Planning:

  • Lead the supply planning and pre-S&OP stages of the company-wide S&OP process.
  • Develop monthly rolling 17-week supply plans in collaboration with stakeholders as part of the pre-Supply Review (SR) process.
  • Present monthly supply status updates during Supply Review meetings.
  • Monitor performance against plans, establish effective communication channels, and communicate results.
  • Oversee planning activities conducted by Site PPDS specialists, ensuring proper production and inventory management.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to stock-outs, excess inventory, and product quality holds.
  • Develop and report key performance metrics, such as OOS alerts and inventory coverage.
  • Support SKU portfolio introduction and discontinuation.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Budget Planning:
  • Develop yearly volume budget plans for Central & East plants (bi-annually).
  • Create plant volume rolling estimates (three times a year).
  • Collaborate with Deployment Planning to update sourcing matrices annually.
  • Provide support for the ramp-up of SIP projects.
Succession Planning and Development:
  • Advocate for the continuous improvement of technology adoption, such as Blue Yonder, and train staff on standard operating procedures and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Supply Planning, to create a succession plan for the Supply Planning team.
  • Promote the company\'s Vision and Mission within the Supply Chain department and lead by example in adhering to them.
Process Improvement:
  • Document and update all departmental processes and procedures, ensuring standardization across plants.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate inter-departmental procedures.
  • Recommend, coordinate, implement, and communicate process and procedural changes impacting other departments.
  • Identify and implement team-based improvement projects.
  • Develop and track performance metrics.
Major Expected End-Results:
  • Maximize customer satisfaction by ensuring product availability and on-time shipments.
  • Ensure the availability of raw materials and ingredients to support uninterrupted production while maintaining inventory levels according to the plan.
  • Minimize product obsolescence and code expiry costs.
  • Maximize cost efficiencies and keep distribution costs within planned budgets.
Qualifications
  • A strong background and a successful track record in production planning, distribution planning, and materials management.
  • Varied industry experience within complex networks.
  • Experience managing large volumes of products, focusing on both production and non-production materials.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in supply chain management
  • Solid financial and process skills, along with excellent client and vendor relations abilities.
  • A university degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of best practices in supply chain management
  • Leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to accomplish projects in both straight-line and matrix environments.
  • Pragmatism, self-discipline, and the ability to express ideas logically and coherently.
  • Proactivity, self-motivation, and a continuous improvement mindset.
