We value and encourage diversity, and we have the courage to do the right thing, even when it\'s hard.Reporting to the Director, Real Estate and Facility Solutions, the Senior Project manager, Real Estate and Facilities Capital is responsible for all capital related project work undertaken by the Real Estate and Facility Solutions team. This may include the validation of our current project control systems and structure for both regulated and non-regulated capital building projects. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible to lead both major projects and a dedicated team of Project Managers. Central to this position\'s success will be the ability to work collaboratively with leadership, project and construction teams (internally and externally) that are comprised of different disciplines and varied skill levels.What Else You Get To Do:

  • Must manage a Regulated and Non-Regulated Capital Spend of
$25M with more than 400 plus projects annually. * Prepare and submit information and forms required for Capital Expenditure Approvals and Regulatory Business Cases.
  • Measure and report project performance using appropriate project management tool.
  • Monitor all major costs incurred, commitments, accruals on the project using cost codes.
  • Ensure the regular cost updates from the project team members and modify cost forecasts/monthly cash flows as required.
  • Evaluate cost impacts due to scope changes and change order requests and dispute resolution.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time within the stipulated scope and budget.
  • Develop project estimates, using historical data, team member input, and experience.
  • Ensure that all Projects impacting Regulated stakeholders, are done in accordance with Alberta Utility Commission (AUC) framework.
  • Ensure all project documentation is done in a transparent, complete, and justifiable manner to anticipate future regulatory filings. Assist stakeholders in regulatory filings as needed.
  • Identify, assess, and create any structures, processes, and procedures necessary to effectively manage any Regulatory projects in the Facilities teams.
  • Monitor vendor performance on Capital Projects and provide constructive feedback when performance does not meet ATCO\'s quality standards.
  • Lead a team of 3-4 internal project managers along with a team of 3rd party project and construction contractors.
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders, including team members, to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.
Who You Are:
  • Project management Profession (PMP) designation is required
  • A post secondary diploma/Certificate is required.
  • An undergraduate degree in Business and/or Engineering is preferred
  • Previous Utilities experience in a regulated environment is preferred
  • 15+ years diversified project management experience with 7+ years managing multi-million dollar capital projects and 5+ years in a progressive leadership role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills to maintain and create a vast network of contacts across province with the ability to negotiate and influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams and to get work done through others.
  • Thorough understanding of the application of PMI methodology and ability to use PM tools.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate project management tools including project cost estimating, forecasting and scheduling.
